A canoe or small row boat, sail boat, kayak, etc.-a pair of oars, i made mine myself from a 2x4" ripped in half and some scrap plywood epoxied together, or you can buy those lousy ones from the store.-a pair of oarlocks, for fishing look for the kind that have a pin through the oar shaft so you can just let go when you get a hit, i got regular. Tandem canoes designed for causal recreation, touring or cruising make the best rowing canoes. these will be between 16 and 17 feet long with a beam (the maximum width) of between 32 and 36 inches. these will be between 16 and 17 feet long with a beam (the maximum width) of between 32 and 36 inches.. I'd say a row boat. more stable and you can get a small motor, where as a canoe your more likely to tip, and, unless it's a flat-back, you cant have a motor. also a row boat would have more room. also consider an inflatable raft, if money is an issue. or if you just want it for fishing look at some kayaks too..
