The york river paddle challenge will be an omckra [ontario marathon canoe and kayak racing association] sanctioned event and will be held on the york river annually in the month of may. there will be three distances to choose from with classes for all disciplines {boat types}..
River is very calm and easy to paddle. however, at mid-tide, the current can run pretty quick. very peaceful and scenic paddle, with the exception of passing under rte 1 and i-95, about a 100 yards apart. saw some fisherman in a boat catch a nice sized striper while going by. i have not had much luck kayak fishing, but have only fooled around.. Segment 19 palm beach/loxahatchee - dep.state.fl.us are john d. macarthur and jonathan dickinson. as you paddle north through the lake worth lagoon, you may notice that this loxahatchee river to the park boat ramp where you can leave your kayak and walk about 200 yards to the campground.. The main section of the park sits on a bluff overlooking the york and taskinas creek. ranger guided trips along the creek and river are very popular. visitors are more than welcome to launch their own boats at either location. only park canoes and kayaks are allowed on the seven acre woodstock pond..
